1. Install the App

SDP is distributed directly as an Android Package (APK). Installation only takes a moment and the app will guide you through the required setup steps after launch.

1

Download the APK

On your Android device, visit our homepage and tap Download for Android. The file will save to your Downloads folder.

2

Enable "Install Unknown Apps"

Android will block the installation because the APK comes from outside the Play Store. When the prompt appears, tap Settings and enable Allow from this source.

Or enable it beforehand:

SettingsAppsSpecial App AccessInstall Unknown AppsChrome (or your browser)Allow from this source → ON

Select the app you used to download the file — usually Chrome or a file manager.

3

Open the APK and tap Install

Open your file manager or tap the download notification, find the APK in Downloads, and tap Install.

4

Play Protect warning? Tap "Install anyway"

If Play Protect blocks the install, tap More details → Install anyway. This warning appears for all apps outside the Play Store and is not specific to SDP.

2. Enable Notifications

Notifications are required

Enable notifications so the app can reliably communicate with your device and keep background features working correctly.
1

Allow when prompted inside the app

On first launch, SDP will ask to send notifications. Tap Allow when prompted.

2

Missed it? Re-enable from Android Settings

SettingsAppsSDPNotificationsAllow notifications → ON

Make sure all channels are enabled, especially Background Service.

3

Keep the background notification visible

You may see a persistent background-service notification while the app is active. Do not block or disable it. If you prefer fewer interruptions, set the channel to silent:

3. Disable Battery Optimisation

Some Android devices aggressively pause background apps to save power. Adjusting battery settings helps SDP stay responsive and reliable when running in the background.

Samsung applies extra restrictions

One UI has aggressive battery management on top of standard Android. Follow both steps below for reliable background operation.
1

Set Battery to Unrestricted

Change from Optimised to Unrestricted.

2

Add to 'Never Sleeping Apps'

This prevents One UI from re-restricting the app after firmware updates.
